Turn the Page: Mental Performance Consulting wants to help you "turn the page" on your performance! I help athletes strengthen their minds as well as their bodies, so you can always be performing at your best! If you're looking to take your game to the next level, Turn The Page can help you get there!
Hi, my name is Jacob Page! I graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Psychology and Sports Studies. I then received a M.S. in Sport Psychology from Florida State University while serving as the lead consultant for a division 1 baseball team and high school rowing team. I specialize in working with high school and college aged athletes on improving thought processes and mindsets, dealing with performance anxiety and mental fatigue, and skills such as self-talk, imagery, confidence and goal setting, but is available to work with a range of clients on a variety of mental performance topics and skills (attentional focus, rest/recovery, return from injury, burnout, etc.). I do NOT provide mental health counseling/therapy. I'm also a Certified Personal Trainer available to provide personal training services.
Mental skills training is just as important as any physical skill: the more we practice it, the better we get at it! If you want to be perform at your best, the mind and body must be in sync. Our thoughts are what drive our behaviors, so it's important we know how to control and use them to our advantage.
Turn The Page: Mental Performance Consulting is a consulting business striving to help individuals maximize and reach their full potential. As a mental performance coach, I aim to provide performers with evidence-based tools, strategies and proper mental skills training to enhance their mindsets and aid in their development as high-performing individuals and teams. The coaching, consulting, and training of the mental side I provide will give individuals and teams the mental edge they need to be successful.
My consulting philosophy stems from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a client-centered orientation. This means I believe our thoughts drive our behaviors and that change comes from the individual. My consulting style promises to service the individuals specific needs through building awareness of the thought processes that drive our performance, identifying areas for improvement, and providing mental skills training to optimize performance. Along with the mental side, I provide 1-on-1 personalized sport-specific strength training to help get you moving efficiently within the demands of your sport.
A lot of times in sport and performance, our toughest challenge isn't the opposition, but ourselves. While everyone trains and prepares for their performance physically, pairing that with mental skills training gives us the edge over our opponent we need to be successful. As a former athlete who's experienced internal battles within my own performance, I can speak confidently when I say: having the proper mental skills training can have huge impact on taking your game to the next level!
